Anthony Smith’s return to fighting after a recent felony arrest did not go well.
Smith faced PFL veteran Jordan Heiderman in the main event of Friday night’s Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA card in the Dominican Republic. Smith was taken down and hit with non-stop punches in the second round of their $500,000 tournament bout and the referee stopped the contest at the 2:17 mark.

Smith made his second appearance with the promotion, including a stoppage win over Chase Sherman in April.
The one-time UFC challenger was arrested in July following a domestic incident with his wife in Nebraska. Smith faces a total of four felony charges, including an attempt of a class 1/1A/1B/1C/1D felony — a class 2 felony — terroristic threats and two charges of first degree false imprisonment, and pled not guilty to the charges on Aug. 17.
Smith, and his wife, have maintained that the alleged story involving his arrest may not be what it seems. Smith was granted permission to travel to the Dominican Republic to compete at the event during his most recent hearing.
