Big Johnny Walker is here to stay after his UFC 332 performance.
The former light heavyweight moved up to heavyweight for the first time, and the change immediately paid dividends as he landed a monster knee to knock out Mick Parkin.
Watch the devastating finish below.
Walker was originally supposed to make his UFC heavyweight debut this past August against Ante Delija, but Delija withdrew from that bout and Walker had to wait until Saturday instead. He made up for lost time in a big way, showing off the incredible knockout power that once had him pegged as a title challenger at 205 pounds.
Once Walker managed to close the distance, it was lights out for Parkin, as Walker went to work with a Thai clinch. Eventually, a powerful knee broke through Parkinâs defenses, causing him to take a scary spill to the canvas as his body went completely limp.
Afterwards, Walker joked that he had been intentionally ânerfingâ his own abilities at a lower weight class, and now he feels heâs ready to perform at his peak as a heavyweight.
âI lost muscle mass, I dehydrate my brain, everything,â Walker said. âNow I have weight. Iâm buff and I can do shit. I donât think thereâs no heavyweight that can fight like me.â
