UFC 330 video: Jeremiah Wells comes back to put Myktybek Orolbai to sleep with shocking ninja choke submission

Jeremiah Wells made Philadelphia proud with one of the biggest comebacks of 2026 at UFC 330.

Likely down two rounds against top welterweight prospect Myktybek Orolbai, Wells pulled off a wild third-round submission in the final frame, putting Orolbai to sleep with an airtight ninja choke submission.

Despite Orolbai having the lead on the scorecards, Wells remained a threat throughout the contest, connecting with hard punches when the fighters exchanged on the feet. Orolbai’s powerful wrestling dictated the action though as he was consistently able to take Wells down and batter him with ground-and-pound.

Wells continued to let his hands go, though, and after catching Orolbai with a stiff right hook in Round 3, Orolbai dove in head-first for another takedown and that’s when Wells sprung his trap. His arms coiled around Orolbai’s neck, followed by Wells pulling him towards the mat to secure the ninja choke. Shortly after, Orolbai went limp and referee Blake Grice stepped in for the stoppage at the 1:24 mark of the period.

Afterwards, the 39-year-old Wells (14-4-1) hinted at retiring in his hometown, but suggested a matchup with a top 15 opponent could keep him competing. On the other side, Orolbai (16-3-1) loses for the first time since moving up to the 170-pound division.
