Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn is finally official.

After weeks of speculation and rumors about the matchup, UFC CEO Dana White announced the bout on social media on Wednesday with the fight taking place on Sept. 12 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with the event airing live on Paramount+ in the United States. DAZN is broadcasting the fight internationally.

Garcia, 27, has long been considered one of the fastest rising stars in the sport of boxing, although he’s faced more than a few ups and downs in recent years. After suffering his first loss when he was knocked out by Gervonta “Tank” Davis back in 2023, Garcia scored an impressive win over Devin Haney only to have the result overturned to a no-contest when he tested positive for a banned substance.

In his next fight, Garcia suffered a huge upset loss when he fell to Rolly Romero by decision.

Garcia finally got back on track with a win over Mario Barrios back in February as he claimed the WBC welterweight title.

As for Benn, he makes his second appearance under the Zuffa Boxing label after he signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion. With a 25-1 record in his career, Benn avenged his only career loss when he beat Chris Eubank in a rematch this past November before scoring a unanimous decision over Regis Prograis back in April.

Now Benn faces his biggest test to date in a showdown against Garcia now scheduled for September.
