Michael Page’s first post-UFC combat sports matchup will have to wait.
Page was slated to face Alexander Shlemenko at RAF 14, but will no longer compete on the card. Surging UFC middleweight contender Brendan Allen steps in to face Shlemenko on the card in his promotional debut — which takes place 13 days following his main event bout with Christian Leroy Duncan.
According to a person with knowledge of the promotion’s plans, the reason for Page’s withdrawal is simply due to “timing.”
Additionally, Bella Mir is set to return to the RAF mat at the event as she faces Hope Chase in a middleweight contest. Mir recently competed on Dana White’s Contender Series and was defeated by Alex Apodaca in the biggest upset in the show’s history. Mir was defeated by Alexis Gomez in her promotional debut at RAF 3 this past November.
Chase, an Invicta and LFA veteran, makes her RAF debut. “Hurricane” has won her past three MMA bouts, including a submission win over UFC veteran Pannie Kianzad for Fusion Fight League in August.
RAF 14 takes place Oct. 23 at Fountainbleau Las Vegas and is headlined by Arman Tsarukyan vs. Dillon Danis, while Khamzat Chimaev faces Robbie Lawler in the co-main event.
