Drake places massive bet on UFC 331 main event
If the Drake curse is real, Joshua Van could be in trouble.
On Saturday, Van defends his flyweight title in a rematch with Alexandre Pantoja in the main event of UFC 331. Van won the belt from Pantoja in December when Pantoja dislocated his elbow while falling to the mat after Van caught a kick just moments into the fight. Now, Van hopes to put all doubts to rest with a more definitive win over Pantoja, and Drake thinks he’s going to do it.
On Saturday, Drake posted a betting slip to his social media showing a $650,000 wager placed on Van, along with a message.
“I don’t know bro … but he better win.”
In recent years, Drake has placed huge bets on several UFC fights, notably backing Conor McGregor to beat Max Holloway at UFC 329, backing Jake Paul to beat Anthony Joshua, and backing Israel Adesanya against Dricus du Plessis. It should also be noted that Drake has a brand deal with Stake — the company he tagged in the post — that has drawn heavy criticism about the veracity of some of Drake’s gambling sessions with the company.
If the bet is legit, Drake stands to win $448,500 with a Van win on Saturday.
