Alex Pereira is back, and he’s sticking at heavyweight.
The former two-division champion takes his second stab at heavyweight when he returns to face Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 on Dec. 12 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The five-round co-main event was announced during UFC 332 on Saturday.
After conquering both light heavyweight and middleweight, Pereira moved up to heavyweight but came up short in his bid to be the first ever three-division UFC champion.
He suffered a knockout loss to current UFC heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane at the UFC White House card in June but Pereira is staying at heavyweight with another title shot possible with a win in December.
Meanwhile, Pavlovich is also working his way back to a title shot when he gets his biggest opportunity to date against a star like Pereira.
Pavlovich fell in an interim heavyweight title fight when he faced Tom Aspinall back in 2023 and he suffered a second straight defeat when he dropped a decision to Alexander Volkov. Since then, Pavlovich has rebounded with three wins in a row including a knockout over Tallison Teixeira back in May.
UFC 335 is expected to add more fights in the coming days.
