Colby Covington makes quick work of Belal Muhammad with shutout victory in RAF 13 main event

Colby Covington backed up his trash talk at RAF 13 after making quick work of Belal Muhammad in the main event from Miami.

The former interim UFC welterweight champion needed less than two full periods to go up 10-0 and end his match against Muhammad by technical fall. Covington remains undefeated in RAF and now he’s got a long list of potential opponents awaiting him.

“Who do you guys want to see me against next?” Covington shouted after his win. “You want to see me against Gilbert Burns? How about Marty Fakenewsman [Kamaru Usman]? What about Tyron Woodley? What about [Khamzat Chimaev]?”

It took a matter of seconds for an eye poke to pause the match as Muhammad had to take time to recover from the foul. On the restart, Covington wasted no time grabbing onto Muhammad and slamming him into a four-point takedown.

Covington quickly scored another two points and he was looking for leg lace to potentially rack up even more points but Muhammad was able to resist and wrestlers were restarted in the center.

In the second period, Muhammad was put on the shot clock for inactivity and that led to Covington actually landing a slick move of his own to get up 9-0 and one more point end it. Sure enough, time ran out of Muhammad with the one-point violation for passivity and that put Covington up 10-0 to end the match by technical superiority.

Covington said a few words to Muhammad afterwards as the rivals put the bad blood behind them — at least for now — with the match ending at RAF 13.

Of course, Chimaev got a win over Burns earlier in the night and that would undoubtedly become one of the biggest RAF matches possible.

For now, Covington can celebrate his victory as he wins again and remains RAF crossover champion.
