Chelsea Reportedly Mulling Move For Argentina Star Emi Martinez
After six years at Aston Villa F.C., Argentina star Emi Martinez looks certain to move clubs before the European transfer window closes on Tuesday, September 1, and Chelsea F.C. has emerged as a likely destination. Martinez, Argentina's No. 1 goalkeeper and the hero of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, has been offered to Chelsea by his representatives and the club is considering making an offer, according to a report from The Athletic on Wednesday.
Martinez, 33, was made available after Aston Villa paid a $35 million transfer fee for Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, who is expected to be the club's No. 1 choice in goal this season. He has also been linked to Manchester United, Juventus, Atlético de Madrid and Galatasaray.
Aston Villa have valued Martinez at $13.4 million.
