Gerald Meerschaert is trying light heavyweight on for size.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that the 59-fight veteran is set to face Julius Walker at the UFC Fight Night event on Oct. 10, which is expected to take place at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Meerschaert looks to turn things around after dropping five-straight bouts. In his most recent contest, “GM3” dropped a unanimous decision to Jacob Malkoun at UFC Perth in May, where he missed weight by four pounds. The 38-year-old seeks his first victory since submitting Edmen Shahbazyan in the second round of their matchup nearly two years ago.

Walker makes his fifth octagon appearance, and enters the bout on a two-fight skid. “Juice Box” has been stopped in both of his 2026 outings, including an eight-second knockout loss against Abdul Rakhman Yakhyaev at UFC Baku in June.
