Cody Garbrandt has given his first thoughts since getting knocked out at UFC 329.

The former bantamweight champion was stopped by Adrian Yanez in a wild one-round bout at this past Saturday’s numbered event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Following the third loss in his past four fights, Garbrandt took off his gloves in the middle of the octagon, but nothing was made of it. On Tuesday evening, “No Love” released his first statement following the loss, and seemed to insinuate he’ll continue competing.

“There are moments in life when hope fades, and the weight of endless problems makes the path unclear,” Garbrandt wrote on Instagram. “But remember this — you only lose when you choose to give up. Let your struggles be your fuel, not your downfall. Don’t let the storm break you. Let it strengthen your will to rise and keep fighting.”

Garbrandt burst onto the UFC scene in 2015, winning his first five promotional bouts before defeating Dominick Cruz for the bantamweight title at UFC 207 in December 2016. Since then, it’s been a bumpy road for the 35-year-old, winning just four of his next 12 appearances. Garbrandt got back in the win column in March at UFC 326, winning a decision against Xiao Long after multiple points were taken from Long for low blows.
