Abud Magomedov channeled a little Nate Diaz in his win at UFC 333.
The middleweight veteran scored his second straight win with an airtight guillotine choke submission that put Cameron Rowston to sleep less than two minutes into their fight Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, then flexed in an homage to the popular Diaz.

The fighters opened by exchanging on the feet, but Rowston attempted to change the pace by snatching a single leg. Magomedov was well-prepared, immediately attacking Rowston’s neck with a choke that he would not escape. Moments later, Rowston went limp, and referee Saman Amidi moved in to stop the bout.
The official time of the stoppage was 1:44 into Round 1.
That’s back-to-back guillotine submission wins for Magomedov, who mentioned the maneuver in his post-fight interview.
“Guillotine is my trump card,” Magomedov said. “If something doesn’t work, guillotine works always.”
Magomedov (30-7-1), a winner of five of his past six fights, also used his microphone time to call for a fight with Gregory Rodrigues.
